The LINK Real Estate Services of Vineyard Haven tracks housing sales for the Vineyard. Their data for 2004 shows homes* on Martha’s Vineyard selling for a median price of $625,000.
That is up $222,500 or 18.4% annually from 2001. The traditionally most affordable towns, Oak Bluffs and Tisbury, experienced the greatest price rises at 25% and 20% per year respectively. The Mass. Association of Realtors reports the median sales price for all single family homes in Massachusetts in 2004 was $340,000. Last year, the Vineyard median price was at least 84.0% higher than the median for the state.
