I am a teaching artist. I run a middle and high school art department here in Martha's Vineyard and rarely have time to sit down and paint on my own work. This leads to bodies of work that are a reflection of the people I know, work with, or the people that live in my community. I paint portraits, mostly for commission.
I paint what I see in people. I recently lost my Grandmother who raised me and have been painting from a montage of WWII era family photographs that I inherited.
